Early Life and Career

Ronny Johnsen is a Norwegian former footballer who played as a defender. Born on June 10, 1969, in Sandefjord, Norway, he began his professional career with the local club Sandefjord BK in 1987. After several impressive seasons, he was signed by Lillestrøm SK, one of the top clubs in Norway, where he won the Norwegian Cup in 1990.

Manchester United and Aston Villa

In 1996, Johnsen joined Manchester United, one of the most successful clubs in the world. He quickly became a key player for the Red Devils, helping them win the Premier League title in the 1996-97 and 1998-99 seasons, as well as the FA Cup in 1999. In 2002, he moved to Aston Villa, another Premier League club, where he spent two seasons before returning to Norway.

Newcastle United and Retirement

In 2005, Johnsen signed for Newcastle United, where he remained until his retirement in 2008. He made over 100 appearances for the Magpies, helping them qualify for the UEFA Cup in the 2005-06 season.

International Career

Johnsen was a regular member of the Norwegian national team, earning 62 caps and scoring three goals. He represented his country at two major tournaments: the 1994 FIFA World Cup and the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
